Meet the Owners

Mark & Sarah Barron
We have had a passion for older vehicles for a long time and decided in late 2023 to start up a small boutique business specialising in making vintage cars available for certain events.
After a bit of setting up, we now have the privilege to offer our two vintage cars to people wanting to experience what it was like to travel in a car back in the late 1920’s, when getting to an event was an event in itself.
We hope you enjoy the experience of using them as much as we do.

Using Betty and Stanley is motoring in the true historical sense when a major part of the event
was just travelling to it in the first place. They are very old fashioned and, true to their age they
do not have power steering, air conditioning, power brakes or a stereo. Instead they make their
own noises, have buckets of character and evoke nostalgia for a bygone era in motoring.
Both Betty and Stanley have a 2.5 litre straight six engine with a 3 speed, sliding shift, manual
gearbox. When changing gear they require the driver to “double the clutch” between shifts
meaning the clutch is depressed twice for each gearchange.
All this means the drivers controls for Betty and Stanley are quite heavy and require a decent
skill level to drive.
They are not particularly fast so getting to your destination in a hurry is not really a priority, but
they will cruise most places at up to about 70 km/hr and will comfortably accommodate three
adult passengers each (plus the driver).
